Navy installs solar powered RO plants

    April 04, 2017

Sri Lanka Navy’s Research and Development Unit installed two solar powered RO plants at Kotaweheramankada Vidyalaya and Aluthwewa Vidyalaya in Thanamalwila.

The installations were made by the Navy utilizing the money saved from the allocations of last year. The Navy has been able to save Rs 30 million from the money allocated to install RO plants in 2016

The Navy set up a number of RO systems throughout the country last year utilizing the financial allocation made by the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease.

While continuing this magnanimous community service project, the Research and Development Unit of the Navy is due to set up yet another 30 solar powered Reverse Osmosis plants in areas where high prevalence of kidney disease is recorded.
