    Two more RO plants opened for community use

    Sri Lanka Navy opened two more RO plants installed in the villages of Palugaswewa in Anuradhapura and Bisobandaragama in Polonnaruwa on 18th March for community use.

    The two facilities in Palugaswewa and Bisobandaragama can produce safe drinking water for 460 and 600 villagers in those areas respectively. The Sri Lanka Navy’s Research and Development Unit produced the two installations utilizing the financial allocations of Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease.  

     

    Sri Lanka Navy has successfully installed a total of 164 RO facilities across the country to date, facilitating over 77,985 families and 60,000 school children with safe drinking water provided free of charge.
