    Several community projects by army

    Sri Lanka Army troops recently conducted several community projects in several areas around the country.

    According to the army media, 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) together with Nugegoda Lions Club and Old Teachers' Association of Samudra Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda conducted a program to distribute school accessories among school students at Kendagasmankada Primary school in Hambantota on 6th February.

     

    As well, the Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) also supported the devotees who attended the feast of MulavaiKalawaththi Sebamalai Matha Church (Roseiro Church) on 9th February.

     

    Troops of the 515 Brigade under the 51 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) facilitated 'ThaipusaThiruvila' poojas at MyliddyKannagi Amman, Murugan and Kulathadi Amman temples on 9th February. During the religious observances troops provided transport, drinking water and emergency medical services for the devotees.

     

    Army media further reported that, an army officer had also donated Rs. 700,000 worth two new beds with a stock of pillows for the Emergency Ward at the Pudukuduirippu Regional Hospital.
