    Five more RO plants opened for community use

    The Sri Lanka Navy opened five more Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants installed at Alakimbulawa Chethiyagiri Rajamaha Viharaya in Padaviya and villages of Madukanda in Vavunia, Thalawa in Polpithigama, Pallekale and Pothivil for community use on Monday (23rd Jan.)


    As a result of the installations 450 families in Thalawa, 400 families in Madukanda, the monks of Chethiyagiri Rajamaha Viharaya and 350 families in the area, 600 families in Pallekale and 680 families in Pothuvil now have the access to safe drinking water provided free of charge.


    The financial support for the RO facility at Chethiyagiri Rajamaha Viharaya was provided by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana while the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Kidney Diseases extended financial assistance for other 4 facilities.
