    Winner of RRS Mission - V to receive new house

    Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the house for the winner of "Ranaviru Real Star - Mission V" at Prabuddha Ranaviru Village in Horanayesterday (19thJan). Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Palitha Thewarapperuma graced the occasion as the chief guest.
     
    The 10 finalists of the "RRS - Mission V",excluding the winner, also received land plots during the event.
     
    Making a brief speech Secretary Hettiarachchi said that, for the first time all 36 finalists of the RRS Mission V will be provided with houses in keeping with President Sirisena's instructions and it is expected to build the houses before the commencement of the next season of the RRS program. He praised the role of the security forces in realizing this pledge. He also thanked Dialog Axiata for their support in building the house for the winner.
     
    The security forces were successful in building and handing over 100 houses to the displaced people in Jaffna within a short span of two and a half months. It was made possible due to the efficiency, commitment and skill of the security forces. It also expected to build another 250 houses in Jaffna, he further said.
     
    Senior Ministry officials, Army Commander, state officials, representatives of the Dialog Axiata, tri forces personnel and RRS finalists were also present at the occasion.
