    Twelve facing O/L exam hospitalized with dengue

    Twelve students, who are facing the G.C.E. (O/L) examination this year, have been admitted to the I.D.H. hospital due to Dengue fever.

     Accordingly, the arrangements have been made to establish an examination center for them in the hospital premises and the doctors are paying a special attention on their health condition, National Dengue Prevention Unit said.  

     

    In addition, the island-wide dengue prevention program commenced this Monday following the instructions of the Health Minister RajithaSenarathne will further be continued with the assistance of the tri forces, Police, Civil Defense Force, and health officers.

     

    The Unit further added that, with the implementation of such programs to prevent dengue breeding places, the number of reporting dengue cases have reduced in a small number. 47,900 dengue patients were reported and 77 of them died by 15th Dec.

     

    During the island-wide dengue prevention program, 77,728 premises have been inspected and 616 have been prosecuted. Of them, 402 were from the Western Province.
