    Health Ministry assists island-wide dental clinics

    Ministry of Health recently distributed medical equipment worth Rs. 200 million for dental clinics at island-wide hospitals in accordance with the vision of the Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne to develop those clinic centers.

    Accordingly, 150 modern dental chairs, 200 televisions with health promotional video clips, and medical equipment packs to treat Fluorosis were distributed on this occasion.

     


    Addressing the occasion, minister Seanarathne said that a new dental hospital attached to the National Hospital, Colombo will be established in the future at a cost of Rs. 1,300 million. The second phase of this hospital will be allocated Rs. 1,500 million. As well, the Colombo National Hospital will also be developed with all the facilities and a dental hospital attached to the Karapitiya teaching hospital will also be established.

     

    The minister further said that the Karapitiya teaching hospital will be developed at a cost of Rs. 9,000 million and added that the Bone marrow transplant surgeries have also commenced at Apeksha Hospital Maharagama, and Kandy General Hospital.
