Showers or thundershowers are expected in several places in the Southern and Uva provinces and in the Ampara, Kaluthara and Ratnapura districts today while a fair weather is expected elsewhere, Met. Department said.
Fairly strong winds (up to 50kmph) can be expected at times over the country.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Galle via Pottuvil.
Winds will be north-easterly to Northerly in direction and speed will be 20-40 kmph. The sea area off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Hambantota via Pottuvil can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph.
