    Dengue larvae steadily increase – Health Authorities

    Health Authorities have identified 48 school premises in Colombo District with mosquito larvae during the recently implemented two day Dengue control program, Health Ministry sources said.


    According to the sources, the authorities have also found 48 state institutions, 53 construction sites, and 38 factory premises with mosquito larvae.


    The total number of premises inspected during the two-day program is 12,058 and legal action has been taken against 316 premises. Notices were issued on 867 premises. A total of 45,845 dengue cases had been detected by health authorities during this year up to November 16 and the highest number, (14,065), had been reported from Colombo district.


    If any person is suffering from fever for more than two days, they should seek immediate medical treatment from a qualified doctor or a state hospital.
