The proposal made by Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to award the contract for construction recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, said Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilaka.

The cost of construction of the Immigration hall and Electronic mall is Rs 374,070,027 as well as VAT.

The construction will be done by M/s Olympus Construction (Pvt) Ltd. The arrival terminal will be temporarily closed for three months once the construction is about to start.
