Sri Lanka will celebrate the National Pensioners’ Day 2016 tomorrow (8th Oct.).
The national celebration will be held at the Pensioners' Hall in Wedamulla, Kelaniya under the patronage of the Minister of Public Administration and Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
Online registration of pensioners for their pension payments, and railway passes will also take place at the event.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
