Island-wide Municipal Councils have decided not to collect the unclassified garbage from 1st of November.
According to the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Mustapha, this decision applies to every household, shop, school, hospital, and state institution.
He also stated that he would take steps to strengthen the police to enforce the law against those who dump garbage on the roads.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
