The Department of Valuation has already finished surveys to value the damages in those areas.
Accordingly, Rs.1179 million and Rs.2018.4 million have been allocated to compensate the damaged properties in Salawa and Kegalle District.
Authorities said that 2031damaged houses and businesses in Salawa area have been identified to be compensated. In Kegalle District, 230 fully damaged, 1,845 partially damaged, and 1682 resettable houses will also be compensated. In addition, owners of 500 damaged houses in Salawa, who intend to build their houses personally, will also be compensated by Rs.0.4 million for each person by the government spending Rs.200 million.
