Strong winds (around 60-70 kmph) are expected in the south western part and hilly areas of the island and in the western and southern sea areas today (21) and tomorrow (22), Met Department said.
Issuing the today weather forecast it said that light showers would occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Jaffna districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
