Three day dengue prevention program commenced on Thursday (30th June) has inspected 18,055 premises in five districts (Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Matale, and Kandy) in its first day and 139 people have been prosecuted.
The program will conclude today (2nd July) covering 10 districts, where a dengue epidemic situation was reported. The necessary directions are being provided by the Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne.
500 teams comprised with the officers of tri- forces and health sector are conducting the inspections in 25 MoH divisions. The reported epidemic situation could be controlled by the end of July if the inspections continued, Health Ministry reveal
