Discussion in view of business development and expansion of new investment opportunities took place between a Chinse business delegation and State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera, earlier this week.
The Ministry said on Thursday the decision to expedite the development projects was taken following the talks.
Zhou Liujun, head of the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of China's Ministry of Commerce, met the State Minister and discussed Chinese investments in Sri Lanka, Xinhua reported.
The discussion was mainly focused on government's policy towards investments in Sri Lanka as well as development prospects for Sri Lanka's business sector.
Similarly, views were also shared on possibility for exchange of technical know-how between the business personnel, opening up of new business avenues and the business environment in Sri Lanka.
The Ministry said that at the talks it was proposed to finalize a trade and economic pact between China and Sri Lanka.
