    Commander of the Navy visits the Bangladesh Navy Ship

    Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne yesterday (06) visited the Bangladesh Navy Ship “BNS Bangabandu”, which arrived in Sri Lanka on 5th June. The Commanding Officer of the ship Captain J. A. Samdany received Commander of the Navy very warmly upon his arrival.

    The Bangladesh Navy Ship arrived in Sri Lanka with a stock of relief supplies for the people who were affected by floods and landslides caused by torrential downpour recently .Commander of the Navy extended his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Bangladesh for the provision of much needed relief materials, strengthening the bilateral state affairs and naval ties of the two friendly nations. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion.


    Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Dharmendra Wettewa, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva, Defence Advisor of the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, Commodore Aslam Parvez, a host of senior officers of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Navies were also present on the occasion.
