The Ministry said that it has commenced obtaining public views for the amendments. The Government hopes to minimize delays in hearing Court Cases by amending the civil and criminal ordinance.

A special committee has been appointed consisting of President’s Counsel and Supreme Court Judge, W.P.G. Depp and Supreme Court Judge Buwaneka Aluvihare. The committee has been appointed by Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa.

The Justice Ministry said that getting pubic views was commenced on May 31 and it would continue until June 31.
