Hotline 1984 of the National Dangerous Drug Control Board established to accept information and tipoff on illegal drugs has received over 500 complaints during the first five months of this year.
Most number of complaints were received on moon shines and illicit breweries. Complaints on heroin amounts to 226 while 10 complaints were received on intoxicating tablets.
According to the officials, these complaints were reported from Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kegalle, and Ratnapura districts.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
