This rail bus service will commence on May 8 with the participation of Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva. The service will be available from Kandy at 9.00 a.m., 11.45 a.m., 3.10 p.m. and 5.10 p.m. They are to reach Peradeniya in 14 minutes. They will commence their turns from Peradeniya at 9.30 a.m., 2.25 p.m., 4.35 p.m. and 6.25 p.m. The rail bus service will stop at railway stations between Kandy and Peradeniya.

The price of a rail bus ticket is Rs. 10.
