    Chief of Defence Forces of Royal Thai Armed Forces calls on Chief of Defence Staff

    Chief of Defence Forces of Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Sommai Kaotira, called on the Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff on 27th April 2016. The visiting General was accorded Tri Services Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence Grounds prior to arrive at the OCDS.

    Upon arrival, the Thai Defence Chief and the delegation were received by the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke. During the cordial discussion, Chief of Defence Staff and the Thai Defence Chief shared thoughts of military history of both countries and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest and recalled the longstanding relations between Kingdom of Thailand and Sri Lanka.


    The delegation comprised of senior military officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces such as, General Surapong Suwanaadth, Chief of Joint Staff, General Ponpipatt Benyasri, Chief of Staff to CDF, Major General Wichai Chucherd, Director External Relations and Major General (Rtd) Rachada Kaotira, spouse of the CDF.


    Official plaques were exchanged between Defence Chiefs of two countries. General Sommai Kaotira also placed his signature on the Visitors’ Book to mark his visit to OCDS.
