The proposal made by Minister of Science, Technology and Research Susil Premajayantha, to declare 26th of October which is the birthday of Deshabandu Dr. A N S Kulasinghe, Eminent Civil Engineer, Inventor, the 1st Commissioner of the Inventors' Commission and the founder of several engineering organizations as the National Inventors' Day, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
