Treasury allocated Rs.43 billion for fertilizer subsidy for paddy, vegetables, tea, and rubber cultivation this year.
Out of the entire allocation, Rs.37 billion will be for the paddy sector, which had an allocation of Rs.35 billion before. Based on the demand for the other sectors, the treasury has also allocated Rs.4 billion for vegetables and an additional Rs.2 billion for tea and rubber cultivations.
According to the government, these measures will make a considerable change in the agriculture and plantation sectors.
