Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Principal of the Trinity College, Kandy Andrew Fowler-Watt today (09th March) signed an MoU to grant admission to the child in Kuliyapitiya, who was deprived of a school due to a false rumor.
This six-year-old boy was deprived of his right to education based on the false allegations that his father died of HIV. Regardless of the protests manned by other parents not allowing the particular child from entering the Kuliyapitiya school, the top health officials have cleared the boy and his parents from HIV infection charges.
Coming forward to up lift the boys right to education the Trinity College in Kandy has pledged to admit and bare all educational expenses of this child.
