Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that when a revenue is issued or a national identity card is issued , that income goes to the Government. This is also a license of the Government. It has been given to the private sector without being done by the Government. As a result when the income is 510 billion rupees, the Government gets only 60 billion rupees.

He asked whether the Minister does not accept that it should be done by the Government. Deputy Minister Ashok Abeysinghe said that he accepts the position and pointed out that the contract with them comes to an end this year. A tender committee has been appointed in this regard. He said that it will not be done as it was in the past. He added that possibilities are looked into to handover the system to SLTB Depots.
