    Rs. 2.5 bn to develop fisheries resources Featured

    The present government has made the largest ever budgetary allocation to develop the fisheries sector by granting to the tune of Rs. 2.5 billion, Ministry of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development disclosed.

    According to the Ministry, it is capable of launching a massive development program to develop lagoons and aqua culture spheres during this year and steps would be taken to encourage the public sector to make investments for the betterment of the trade.

     

    The government has allocated the money to develop fish and aquatic resources in 116 lagoons and 10,000 reservoirs as resources are dwindling, Ministry added.
