The event, attended by medical staff including specialist consultant doctors was organized for the benefit of the Ministry staff. Medical checkups were carried out including diagnosis on non-communicable diseases, vision and ear care, dental health and obstetrics and gynecology.

Chief Minister of the Western Provincial Council Hon. Isuru Devapriya visited the medical camp and met the State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene and Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi. He presented special badges to the State Minister and the Secretary.

As a gesture of appreciation mementos and certificates were presented to the attending medical staff by the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the MoD Mrs. Wasantha Gunawardena.

A large number of officials and staff of the Ministry attended the health camp.
