Director of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Paba Palihawadana said that a majority of Dengue patients were recorded from areas which fall under the Colombo Muncipal Council, Nugegoda, Kolonnawa, Wattala, Ratmalana, Dehiwala, Maharagama, Ja-Ela, Wattala, Negombo, Moratuwa, and Panadura areas.

She also noted that over 1000 persons have been diagnosed with Dengue over the past twenty two days.

Therefore, a three-day special programme to eradicate Dengue from the western province will commence on January 28.
