He said the new service would be of great help to people visiting the Maharagama Cancer Hospital and the Maharagama weekly fair. The Rail-Bus service would operate four times a day as follows:

Leaving Homagama at 8.07 a.m. to reach Kosgama at 9.04 a.m; from Kosgama at 10.20 a.m. to reach Maharagama at 12.00 noon; from Maharagama at 1.30 p.m. and reach Kosgama at 3.00 p.m. and from Kosgama at 3.40 p.m. to reach Homagama at 4.45 p.m.

The Sri Lanka Railway on Monday (18) inaugurated a rail bus service for the first time to operate on the Kelani Valley Railway Line  from Kosgama to Homagama and Maharagama.  The rail bus service was inaugurated by Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva in Kosgama.  Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that the new service will benefit the people visiting the Maharagama Cancer Hospital.

The rail bus service will operate four times a day a per the following time table:-
