Accordingly the last A340 that is currently in operation will be making its final commercial flight from Madras to Colombo today at 10.50 am.
SriLankan will say good bye to the A340 with a water gun salute upon the arrival of this aircraft from Chennai at the Katunayake Airport.
The Airline embarked upon a wide body fleet renewal programme last year, with plans to induct all new A330-300's and the new generation A350-900's to strengthen its long and medium haul operations. SriLankan, took delivery of its first Airbus 330-300 in October 2014 and the second on December 2014.
The new A330-300 boasts of state-of-the-art cabin features that will redefine the flying experience for passengers in both Business class and Economy class on SriLankan Airlines.
