The Minister of fisheries and aquatic resources development Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the political reasons also were caused on the European union fish ban and a Proposal for the restoration of GSP plus and removal of the fish ban will be presented to the European Parliament in the coming months.
He made these observations today (22) in a press conference held at the Department of the Government Information.
A group of technicians from the European union arrived Sri Lanka and they have agreed to provide positive recommendations, he added.
The ban was reason to a big loss of more than 100 million US dollars per a year and collapse the fishing industry of Sri lanka, further he said.
