Many students in the region have been benefitted over the past years by way of this annually organized book donation.

Addressing the gathering State Minister Wijewardene went on to say that, government has made notable efforts to revive the education sector in parallel with the allocation of considerable amount of funds. The increase of educational attainment would considerably assist in reducing crime and violence in a country, he noted.

He also reiterated on the importance of a quality education in a country for its future growth.
