The Media Minister made this remark in response to a query made by Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardene in Parliament yesterday (10) with regard to summoning of a group of journalists of Sakhanda newspaper to the FCID to record a statement on a Parliamentary media reporting.

He asked the Media Minister whether he could make any statement in this regard as apprehending them would lead to a serious situation.

In response Minister Karunatilleke said there will not be any attacks or physical threats to any journalist as happened during the previous regime and not to create any unnecessary fear psychosis among journalists by making false statements.
