A five-member delegation led by Ilyas Mahomed-Salomovich Umakhanov, Vice Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly visited Sri Lanka from 30th November to 2nd December 2015.
The delegation from the Council of the Federation (Upper Chamber) of the Federal Assembly visited Sri Lanka on the invitation of Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of Parliament.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of Parliament, Thilanga Sumathipala, Deputy Speaker and also called on Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (Dec.01). The delegation also held discussions with the Sri Lanka – Russia Parliamentary Friendship Association.
