Navy arrests twenty six persons engaged in illegal fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya in Kalpitiya arrested 26 persons with 15 Fiber Glass Dinghies (FGDs) on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the seas between Seththawadiya and Uchchamuniya on 18th November 2015. Thirteen fishing nets (thangus nets), 18 oxygen cylinders, 4 pairs of diving fins and 5 diving masks were also taken into custody during the arrest.
