The Department for Registration of Persons will be kept open on November 21 to enable the students who are sitting the GCE Ordinary Level Examination on December to procure their National Identity Cards.

The Department has called on applicants who had duly completed their application forms to bring along with them the necessary documents. Inquiries can also be made on this day about the applications that had been posted to the Department. Arrangements have been made to operate a one-day service from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on this particular day on behalf of students who complete 16 years of age on the 21st of this month and were unable to secure their identity cards.

A state cost amounting to 1000 rupees will be levied. The Department of Registration of Persons pointed out that the presence of the applicant’s mother, father or a relative is sufficient with a letter consolidating the relationship.
