In a ceremony organized to felicitate the Sri Lankan 9th Force Protection Unit which is presently serving at the United Nations Interim Force, Lebanon (UNIFIL) were presented with respective service medals on completion of their service tenure recently.
Accordingly, Sri Lankan contingent comprised of 150 Peacekeepers received their Medals during the session.
Deputy Force Commander of the UNIFIL Brigadier General Sandeep Singh Bajaj graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
General Officer Commanding of the 58 Division Major General K.C. Gunawardana was also present at the ceremony to represent the Commander of the Army.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Lebanon Mrs, W Mendis and Brigadier General Hamadan Hajjar of Lebanon Armed Force were also present.
