Plans have been prepared for the rehabilitation of roads in the Central Province under the Asian Development Bank funded Integrated Road Investment Programme.
It is expected to rehabilitate 222km of rural roads in Kandy District, 181km of rural roads in Nuwara Eliya District, and 195km of rural roads in Matale District.
The proposal made by Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of University Education and Highways, to award nine civil works contract packages to rehabilitate roads in the Central Province, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
