    Navy conducts free Eye Clinic for Northern people

    Continuing its community development and welfare oriented programmes Sri Lanka Navy conducted Field Eye Clinics at Madagal and Karainagar areas under the patronage of the Northern Naval Command recently.

    Accordingly, screening of populace in area was carried out under this programme to identify visually impaired individuals who needed eye care and were also provided with spectacles free of charge. Over 800 people arrived at the clinic and underwent the screening process for eye related problems. Over 400 spectacles were provided during the medical camp.

     

    George Gooneratne Optometrists, renowned opticians, extended their supportive hands to assist these needy people to acquire proper professional eye care throughout the programme. Naval Doctors along with the medical staff rendered their committed professional service at the clinic.

     

    The people of these resettled communities have high praise for the navy's and their long reaching initiatives in social welfare oriented work.
