Sports Minister pledges to resign if allegations against Sri Lankan T20 World Cup cricket team are proven
June 24, 2024Minister of Tourism, Lands, Sports, and Youth Affairs Harin Fernando, stated that he will resign from his ministerial position if allegations of indiscipline within the Sri Lankan cricket team, currently participating in the 2024 T20 World Cup, are proven.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized the government’s commitment to creating the most advanced, future-focused educational system in South Asia. He highlighted that education remains the nation’s greatest asset and that the government has prioritized funding for education and integrating new technology despite economic challenges.
Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara stated that the revolutionary challenge of preventing people from dying was accepted by President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the members of Parliament when the country collapsed. He made these remarks while participating in the 'Smart Youth Club' program on the second day of the 'Amparata' event today (23rd).
President Ranil Wickremesinghe advised the future generation to prioritize obtaining a good education, respecting principles and not fearing challenges.
