    Frist day cover and a stamp to mark WCY 2014 will be issued today

    A First-Day Cover and issue of a  stamp to commemorate 15th World Conference on Youth (WCY) 2014 will be launched under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the BMICH  today,May 7.

    The Main Plenary session  will be held  at the BMICH main hall on the theme "Mainstreaming Youth in the Post-2015 Agenda – Looking back" with the participation of Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Senior Minister for International Monetary Co-operation and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Sri Lanka, Subinay Nandy, Resident Coordinator, United Nations Sri Lanka, Lloyd Russell-Moyle, VP YFJ , Shine Baskaran - Chairman, Junior Chamber International and national statements will be delivered by Ministers.

    Also there will be Roundtable Plenaries & Breakout sessions, Facilitators /Rapporteurs Meetings etc. Some of the themes at oday's sessions would be "Achieving Good Governance & Accountability", "Inclusive Youth Participation at all levels ", "Globalization/ Inclusive Youth-led Development ", Gender Equality, "Empowering Marginalized Youth including Most at Risk young people", "Realizing equal access to quality Education , Poverty Eradication & Food Security ".
