Sarath Chandrasiri Vithana, Additional Secretary to the President has been appointed as the new Director General of the Mahaweli Authority.
He received his letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence, yesterday (22).Mr. Vithana is a senior public servant in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, and he was also served as a Secretary and Additional Secretary to several Ministries.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
