    Another batch of 134 returnees after completion of the two-week-long quarantine process at the Military operated Punani and Diyathalawa quarantine centres, were sent home and currently, there are 1964 persons in quarantine at 48 centres, said Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva in a special statement issued at the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of the Covid-19, yesterday (20).  

    Measures have been taken to provide all Samurdhi families Rs. 10,000 and currently all officers are engaged in granting the advance to the Samurdhi recipients, the Samurdhi Development Department Director General Bandulal Tillakasiri said at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday (30).

    The Police had arrested 173 persons during the six hour period from 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm yesterday (30) for violating curfew regulations, the Police Media Unit stated.
