The curfew imposed to facilitate self-quarantine is currently in force and so far 3,500 persons who violated the curfew have been arrested, while the majority of them are those who engaged in corrupt activities during the curfew hours, said DIG Ajith Rohana.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has so far deployed over 275 buses to provide transport facilities for the health sector personnel, the Deputy General Manager H.A. Pandula told the government news portal today.

One hundred and forty five (145) persons have been directed to the quarantine centre at Boossa Naval Base as of now. The quarantine centre at Boossa Naval Base was established to support the quarantine of persons arriving in the island, in the backdrop where the new coronavirus is spreading all over the world.

Due to the ongoing island-wide curfew, imposed by the government with the aim of preventing the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), a large number of patients who obtain prescribed medicines from hospitals and pharmacies are facing a dilemma.
