    1. Multi-Sectoral Action Plan for Nutrition 2018-2025  

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. the President to get policy agreement to implement the Multi Sectoral Action Plan for Nutrition 2018-2025 which was prepared with multi-lateral participation including all the ministries, Provincial Councils, District and Divisional Administrative Authorities, Development Parties, Donor Institutions, Experts, Business Community, Civil Organizations and Non-Government Organizations.

    1. Declaration of “The Information Month” simultaneously to the International Day of Right to Information.

    -The Right to Information Act NThe Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. the President upon the request of Non-Cabinet Minister of Media to declare the month between 15th September 2019 to 15th October 2019 as “The Information Month”  to issue a circular instructing all the government institutions to engage in the activities related to this Act, to organize public awareness programs covering all the Divisional Secretariats, and  to implement RTI Mobile Service “The Village Right to Information” in 05 selected Districts.

    1. Permanent Appointments for the employees recruited on Temporary, Casual (Daily), Contract or Concessionary Basis.

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the combined proposal presented by Hon.Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Minister of Public Administration, Disaster Management and Livestock Development, to implement respective circular provisions to provide permanent and pensionable posts with respect to the employees have a service more than 180 days on completion of relevant qualification as at 01.09.2019.

    1. Liquidation of Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority affiliated Natural Resources Management Service (Pvt) Ltd, Mahaweli Venture Capital (Pvt) Ltd and Mahaweli Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd which have been incorporated under section 13(18) of Mahaweli Development Act.

    -The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment to liquidate the above Natural Recourses Management Service (Pvt) Ltd, Mahaweli Venture Capital (Pvt) Ltd and Mahaweli Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd which were incorporated in accordance with the section 13(18) of the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority Act and now inoperable.

    1. Signing Viability Gap Funding Agreements with Aviation Companies to operate domestic air services on selected destinations and on scheduled timetable.

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs to enter into Viability Gap Funding Agreements with selected Aviation Services Companies subjected to submission of detailed operating statistics and business plan for the coming year.  

    1. Project to support food security and quality in Sri Lanka and Nationally Determined Industrial Sector Contribution Project in Sri Lanka proposed to be funded by EU grants.

     

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to enter into grant agreements to obtain European Union Grants Euro 11 million and Euro 7.81 million respectively for Project to support food security and quality in Sri Lanka and Nationally Determined Industrial Sector Contribution Project in Sri Lanka.

    1. Memorandum of Understanding Between the University of Jaffna and University of Bristol in UK.

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Jaffna and University of Bristol in United Kingdom with the intention of developing Educational Cooperation between both countries. 

    1. Agreement between Sri Lanka and Kingdom of Kamboj on visa exemption for Diplomatic, Special, Official and Service Passport Holders

     

    -  The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Council & Local Government to enter into an agreement between the kingdom of Kamboj and Sri Lanka on visa exemption for diplomatic, Special, Official and Service passport holders.

    1. Supply of Uniforms and other textiles for Tre Force, Civil Security Department, National Cadet Crops, Sri Lanka Police and Special Task Force for the year 2019

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon Minister of Defence to purchase textiles for textile requirements of tri forces and other government agencies under the Ministry of Defence from local textile producers selected by the Domestic Textile Allocation Committee considering the bids provided.

    1. Purchase of Coal for Coal Power Station Puttalam

     

    - The proposal made by the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development to obtain cover approval award the contract of purchasing 300,000 MT of coal from M/s Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises Pte. Ltd. 65 Chulia Street # 45-05, OCBC Centre, Singapore.

    1. Entering into long term Contract for the importation of Diesel and Jet A-1 from 1st October 2019 to 31st May 2020

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Highways, Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development to award the contract of importing 1.04 million barrels of diesel and 1.28 million barrels of Jet A-1 with respect to a period of 8 months from 1st October 2019 to 31st May 2020 to M/s Mena Energy DMCC in accordance with the recommendation of Special Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the cabinet.

    1. Entering in to long term agreement for the Importation of Petrol from 1st October 2019 to 31st May 2020

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development to award the contract for importation of 900,000 barrels of Petrol with respect to a period of 8 months from 1st October 2019 to 31st May 2020 to M/s to M/s Vitol Asia Pte, Ltd. in accordance with the recommendation of Special Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the cabinet.

    1. Rehabilitation and Repair of road sections in Orugodawatta-Ambathale Road

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Highways, Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development to award the contract of rehabilitating and repairing the first 2.9 km section and the section from 4.2 km to 5.44 km of Orugodawatta-Ambathale (B-435) road (Phase II) to M/s Tudawe Brothers (Pvt) Ltd.

    1. Purchasing 01 Additional Pilot Launches for Sri Lanka Ports Authority

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development to award the contract of procuring an additional Pilot Launches for Sri Lanka Ports Authority in line with the regulations and conditions of the previous contract to Colombo Dockyard PLC Sri Lanka Company under the provisions of Re-Order Procurement System mentioned in Procurement Guidelines 2006.

    1. Introducing an Effective Legal Framework for Combating Terrorism

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the combined proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to direct legal draftsman to draft new laws or to draft amendments for existing laws, in accordance with the proposals submitted.

    1. Handing over 101 new model villages to recipients

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Housing, Constructions and Cultural Affairs to hand over 101 new model villages to recipients between 23rd October 2019 to 07th October 2019 before the World Habitat Day 2019 (October 7).
