    1.Report of the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate alleged irregularities at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.   Doc 05

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E.the President to present in parliament the report of presidential commission appointed to investigate alleged irregularities at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering, and Mihin Lanka from 01.01.2006 to 31.01.2018 and to refer the relevant report to the Attorney General for legal action to be taken as per the recommendations there in.

    2.Amendment of name “Sri Lanka Intellectual Property Office” as “Sri Lanka Intellectual Property   Department”  Doc 06

    - The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. The President to amend the name “Sri Lanka Intellectual Property Office” as “Sri Lanka Intellectual Property   Department” and to revise the section 04(1) of Intellectual Property Act No.36 of 2003 accordingly. 

    3.Payment of compensation in lieu of land  to Land owners who were given lands in place of their lands acquired to Wemedilla Reservoir since the lands given were acquired to Moragahakanda Reservoir. Doc 13

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment to provide Rs. 1.6 million compensation to 04 persons who have been affected by the above project and not received compensation that provided as an alternative proposal in lieu of  land.

    4.Rehabilitation of completely and partially damaged Hindu Religious Places of Worship in  Northern and Eastern Provinces.  Doc 14

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs to implement this rehabilitation program through District and Divisional Administration using special allocation of Rs. 200 million.

    5.Financial Assistance for the construction of Vocational Training Centre in Matara.  Doc 17

    -The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of  Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of protracted Displaced persons,           Co-Operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development to obtain 15.7 million financial aid from KfW (Kerditanstalt Fur Weideraifbau)  in Germany, to establish a self-governing system for proposed  Vocational Training Institute in Matara and  Sri Lanka German Training Institute in Kilinochchi, and to govern all three Sri Lanka German  technical training Institutions in common manner. 

    6.Etablishment of Credit Regulatory Authority  Doc 18

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to establish Credit Regulatory Commission as an autonomous body with legal authority, governed by the Ministry of Finance repealing the existing Microfinance Act.  

    1. Revising of Tax Acts Doc 19

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to draft bills for revising Value Added Tax Act No.14 of 2002, Nation Building Act No.09 of 2009, Economic Service Charge Act No 13 of 2006, Inland Revenue Act No.24 of 2017, Finance Act, and Betting and Gaming Levy Act No. 40 of 1988 to insert necessary amendments.

    1. Directives on the Priority of Claims in winding up a Licensed Finance Company under Section 33 of Finance Business Act No. 42 of 2011

     

    Directives, approved by the Financial Board of the central Bank of Sri Lanka have been published in Extra Ordinary Gazette no 2125/58 dated 31.05.2019 under the signature of the Minister of Finance and the cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister to present this gazette for parliamentary approval.

    1. Providing relief for the people affected by the acquisition of land for Demodara Reskuru reservoir in Badulla- Haliela= Ella integrated water supply project. Doc 23

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education to compensate 05 displaced families possess of permanent deeds for their lands based on present market value of the land where they resided and provide a compensation based replacement value of their residences, and to provide a license or grant under the provisions of Land Development Ordinance for 20 families including these 05 families and 15 unauthorized residents  with respect to optional lands given.

    10.Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Maldives  Doc 25

    The proposal made by the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education, to  sign a MoU between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives on  Higher Education and activities in Water Supply Field was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

    11.The 42nd Asia Pacific Dental Congress and Exhibition organized by the Sri Lanka Dental Association  Doc  26

    - 42nd Asia Pacific Dental Congress and Exhibition organized by the Sri Lanka Dental Association will be held from the 09th to 13th of June 2020 in  Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to secure funds for this   s conference and exhibition and name the same as a workshop with national importance.

    1. Energy Performance Standards for Light Emitting Diode (LED) Bulbs Doc 27

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development to introduce minimum energy performance  Standards  for LED bulbs, introduce and gazette directives under section 67 of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority Act and to table in the parliament consequently.

    1. Building 2,000 Housing Units for Low Income People under Chinese Aid Program Doc 33

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Megapolise and Western Development to assign government owned land “Elumaduwawatta” in Dematagoda to Urban Development Authority as a free grant and to acquire  3 acre 03 rude 8.84 perch land in Kelawala Mawatha in Moratuwa Divisioanl Secretariat and secure funds to develop these lands.

    1. Bilateral Civil Aviation Agreement between Sri Lanka and Hungary Doc 43

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon.Minister of Transprot and Civil Aviation to sign this agreement by an authorized Government Officer and to implement productively the same.

    1. Increase penalties for offenses of the Penal Code Doc 45

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Justice and Prison reforms to instruct Legal Draftsman to draft bills to increase penalties for offences of the penal code in accordance with the recommendations of the committee appointed.

    1. Contract for recruiting consultants for Detailed Planning and Procurements of Package I of Sustainable Urban Development Project implemented under ADB Loan Assistance Program.: Kuruneagala , Rathnapura, Dambulla and Trincomalee road network Improvement Doc No 62

    -The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Megapolise and Western Development to award this contract to SMEC International Pvt. Ltd. Australia JV with Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte. Ltd. (SJIPL), Singapore and Sub Consultant as Resources Development Consultants Ltd and Master Hellies’s Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Ltd. Sri Lanka  upon the recommendations of cabinet appointed consultants procurement Committee.

    1. Contract for recruiting consultants for Detailed Planning and Procurements of Package II of Sustainable Urban Development Project implemented under ADB Loan Assistance Program : Kuruneagala , Rathnapura, Dambulla and Trincomalee urban development, Heritage Preservation and Capacity Building Doc No 63

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Megapolis and Western Development to  award this contract to  Engineering Consultants Ltd. Sri Lanka (Lead Consultants) JV with KEIOS Sri Development Consulting Italy upon the recommendations of cabinet appointed consultants procurement Committee.

    1. Procurement of 5,000 Railway Rails Doc No 65

    -The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation to award contract of purchasing 5,000 EN 45 El (45'00") R 260 - EN13674 to M/s Angang Group International Panzhihua Co. Ltd. For USD 2,320,230 upon the recommendations of  cabinet appointed consultants procurement Committee.

    1. Memorandum of Understanding on Vocational Training and Youth Development Doc No 65

    -The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister to sign a MoU between the governments of Sri Lanka and Maldives on vocational training and youth development and authorize Sri Lanka Ambassador in Maldives to sign this MoU on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka.

    1. Agreement between the Republic of Maldives and Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on the facilitation of Visa Arrangements Doc No 69

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister to enter into an agreement between the Republic of Maldives and Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on the facilitation of Visa Arrangements and authorize the Minister of Internal and Inland affairs, Provincial Council and Local Government to sign this agreement on behalf of the Sri Lankan Government.

    1. Japanese Yen 1 billion grant Aid to enhance public security and counterterrorism Activities under Non-Project Japanese Grant Assistance 2019 Doc. 70

     The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to sign the exchange papers with the government of Japan for obtaining the grants aids of Japanese Yen 1 billion provided as an instant reaction for the Easter Sunday Attack.   

      Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Maldives and the Government of Sri Lanka Doc No 73

    The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Primary Industries and Social empowerment to sign a MoU between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Maldives with the intention of Encouraging the Elderly Community through various Programs, Contributing the elders’ protection, improving skills of differently abled persons and protecting their rights.
