The museum was declared open parallel to the 47th Commemorative activities of late D.A Rajapaksa.

Personal belongings of late D.A.Rajapaksa and his wife and several letters written in his hand writing together with a collection of rare photographs of late D.A Rajapaksa and his family are in display.

Prior to opening the museum President Mahinda Rajapaksa offered floral tributes to the statues of his father late D.A Rajapaksa and his mother late Mrs.Dandina Rajapaksa.

Speaker of Parliament Chamal Rajapaksa, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Secretary of the Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, Uva Province Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa were present at the occasion. (KH)
