As part of the ongoing housing project of the Army, a newly built house was symbolically handed over to the Private (Retired) D. L Samarasundara with five children by the President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (18th April).
The event was taken place in Polonnaruwa.
The new house, valued at 1.5 million was built on a plot of land provided by the beneficiary. 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), 8 SLNG, 18 SLNG and 24 SLNG troops under the Security Forces - East (SF-E) built the house providing their labor and technical expertise.
