    President left for Germany Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena left for Germany this morning (15) for a three day official visit at the invitation of the German Chancellor Ms.Angela Merkel. After concluding this tour the President will leave for Austria for a two day official visit.

    During his visit to Germany the President also expected to obtain many economic and developmental benefits to Sri Lanka.



    A special ceremony will be held under the patronage of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to welcome the President on February 17 and will accord a Guard of Honour.



    In a rare honour, President Sirisena is scheduled to visit the German Parliament and to meet the representatives of the German Parliament. Subsequent to that the President is expected to held bilateral discussions with the German Foreign Minister and the Minister of German Economic Affairs.



    After concluding the three-day visit to Germany the President will leave for Austria on February 19.



    The President of Austria, Heinz Fischer will warmly welcome the President with state honours upon his arrival and the President is expected to meet a high level Austrian delegation including the Austrian President.
