Under the influence of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ, the area where the Northern and Southern hemispheric winds meet), the possibility for rain over the country is high, predicts the Met Dept.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most parts of the island during the afternoon and night and the Western Province will experience morning showers too, the Met Dept. said.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
